Reusable Cloth Diapers

🧽 Example Wash Routine
Every family’s schedule is different, but here’s a simple rhythm that works for most households:
-
Every morning: Do a pre-wash with yesterday’s nappies (and last night’s night nappy). Store them in a dry pail after washing.
-
Every second night: Run your main wash with all pre-washed nappies. Let them air dry the next morning.
✨ Tip: Download our free “Cloth Nappy Wash Guide” and pin it in your laundry for easy reference!
🌱 Preparing New Cloth Nappies
Before using your new nappies, it’s important to soften and activate the fibres to maximise absorbency—just like you would with new towels.
How to prep your new Earth to Mumma nappies:
-
Soak the inserts overnight in warm water.
-
Wash both inserts and shells using a mild detergent.
-
Air dry completely.
-
They’re now ready for baby bum magic!
(For best absorbency, you can repeat the process 2–3 times on inserts if desired.)
🚫 What to Avoid
To keep your nappies in top condition, avoid the following:
-
Bleach or whitening agents
-
Fabric softeners or conditioners
-
Detergents with additives, dyes, perfumes, or essential oils
-
Oxygen-based or chlorine-based bleach
-
Natural soaps or soap flakes
-
Tumble drying on medium to high heat
-
Washing above 40°C
-
Soaking for long periods
Following these care guidelines helps preserve your nappies’ absorbency, fit, and lifespan—keeping them looking great wash after wash 💚
